TAYP Welcomes Two New Board Members

As TAYP continues its efforts around the 4 E’s Model, it will rely even more on the expertise and experience of its valued board members. In order to meet the needs of our ever-expanding community and to excel in our various programmatic endeavors, we are pleased to announce the addition of two new board members: Ms. Shelly Porges and Mr. Kris Balderston.

TAYP is pleased to welcome noted strategy expert and global entrepreneurship advocate Ms. Shelly Porges. Ms. Porges brings years of private sector, government, and entrepreneurship experience, and can provide valuable insights gleaned from a rich professional background. Ms. Porges is the former Senior Advisor for the Global Entrepreneurship Program at the U.S. State Department, and also launched the State Department’s Global Women’s Business Initiative to support female entrepreneurs around the world. She also has extensive private sector experience, both as a founder and co-founder of several start-up initiatives, as well as from previous positions with American Express and Bank of America. Ms. Porges currently serves on the Advisory Board for Global Entrepreneurship Week, has a role on Meridian International’s Global Leadership Institute Advisory Board, and is the National Finance Co-char for the Ready for Hilary PAC, among other endeavors. TAYP is excited to utilize Ms. Porges well-rounded business acumen and strategy development expertise.

TAYP is also excited to work with Mr. Kris Balderston. With his high-profile political and internationally-focused background, Mr. Balderston will provide integral knowledge and experience to advise TAYP in the coming year.  Mr. Balderston brings more than 30 years of communication and government experience, and he currently serves as the General Manager of Flieshman-Hillard’s Washington DC office. His deep background in politics includes serving as the Special Representative for Global Partnerships at the U.S. Department of State, where he led the Global Partnership Initiative. In addition, he held various roles during President Clinton’s term, including Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet and Deputy Assistant to the President, and has also served as then-Senator Hilary Clinton’s Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff. We look forward to utilizing his domestic and foreign policy experience in support of TAYP continued growth and success.
