On Thursday May 21, Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi will meet with President Obama at the White House to “ underscore the United States’ longstanding friendship with Tunisia,” according to a White House press release. The two presidents will discuss a variety of topics, ranging from economic reform and security cooperation, as well as issues currently facing the Middle East and North Africa region.
As the Tunisian government begins to implement critical reforms, a solidified relationship with the United States, a proven political, economic, and security partner, will ensure that Tunisia is provided the necessary support to continue its successful development. As TAYP continues its efforts to strengthen the economic relationship between the US and Tunisia, we are pleased to see the continuation of high-level talks between the two countries and a deep commitment on both sides to continue to propel Tunisia forward.
