On August 14th 2019, TAYP members, partners and friends, gathered at La Villa Bleue in Sidi Bou Said for the annual summer reception to celebrate yet another year of TAYP’s efforts to strengthen the ties between Tunisia and the US for sustainable economic and social development. At the event, young professionals, academics, private sector leaders, entrepreneurs, government officials, politicians, artists and journalists networked, reconnected, and exchanged thoughts and ideas on how to better support the Tunisian ecosystem and help with its development.
Mr. Mohamed Maalouche, TAYP’s Co-founder and Board Chairman, announced that the Board elected in June Ms. Meriem Trabelsi as TAYP’s next President. Being the youngest and first woman to hold the post, Ms. Trabelsi announced the composition of her Executive Team for the next three years: Ms. Maroua Sallami, Vice President of Communications, Mr. Mahmoud Mamlouk, Vice President of Special Projects, and Mr. Amine Brahim, Vice President of Events.
The newly elected President thanked the previous Executive Team for their achievements and guidance, and presented her vision and priorities for TAYP, centered on the expansion and strengthening the TAYP network and creating more opportunities for cultural and economic exchanges between Tunisia and the United States.
The event was attended by Slim Feriani, Tunisian Minister of Industry and SMEs, and Donald Blome, Ambassador of the United States to Tunisia. The two government officials took this occasion to emphasize the strong ties between the Tunisia and the United States and congratulate TAYP on its continuous efforts in promoting economic growth and sustainable development through its initiatives, such as its recent participation in the second session of the United States – Tunisia Joint Economic Commission and the DRIVE Project.
