Zied Mhrsi is a physicians with extensive public health mostly focusing on strengthening health systems and health workforce development. He currently works for Physicians for Human Rights developing expertise in health, legal and law enforcement personnel to undertake human rights investigations. Zied is a serial entrepreneur as in 2011, he co-founded a successful Media start up Tunisia Live, the first Tunisian English-language news outlet. Zied is an influential blogger and commentator on various news outlets including the New York Times, CNN, CBS, and PBS. In 2013 Mhirsi and his associates started Tunisia’s first coworking space Cogite, a social business offering boosting opportunities to social-driven entrepreneurs and innovators. Zied holds a Medical Doctor degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tunis-El Manar, two MPH from the American University of Beirut and from the University of Washington’s School of Public Health. He is the author of a book on the history of mental health in Tunisia and a Tutu Fellow at the African Leadership Institute.
